As we move toward Valentine’s Day, I thought a story about true human and feline love would be a great idea, and what’s more romantic than Cees and Madison Hofman and their kitten Vladimir spending their first year of wedded bliss on the road, exploring all 59 U.S. National Parks?
The couple said their goal was to make their furry family member the “cutest, coolest, smartest, best adventure kitty out there.” Hats off to Vladimir who is not only leash trained but clicker trained as well. You go Vlad! You can follow Vladimir and his humans on Instagram
Roomba Cats and Superbowl Ads – Ad Week
The female human does consulting and a lot of business with the company GoDaddy.com. I can wholeheartedly recommend this company as they are doing roomba-cat Superbowl ads this year. The female human and I think the male human should buy her a roomba and I have volunteered to pilot it. Take a sneak peek at one of the ads.
Hong Kong Shop Cats Help Business – The Daily Mail

You know I just can’t let a Wednesday go by without posting something about working cats. This week, I found a story about a photographer who spent a year taking pictures of Hong Kong’s shop cats. And the folks in Hong Kong know a thing or two about felines, they consider their shop cats fortunate and they acknowledge that their furry coworkers help bring in customers to their stores.
Here’s to all the shop kitties in Hong Kong and the rest of the world.
Bubble Bowl Chair for Cats – Metro UK
Furniture for cats is nothing new. I can tell you our humans spend a lot of cash on feline furnishings for our home. What is new about this item is that this chair is comfortable for cats and fun for humans as well. You know we like to slink into odd-shaped items and contort our lithe bodies into amazing forms. This chair allows us to do this and, since it’s a clear blubble, the humans get the full, entertaining effect of our antics. The female human was ready to order one for the Tribe of Five, but it’s on something called “Kickstarter” and the donation amounts are in Hong Kong dollars. As soon as she figures out how to do this, I’ll let you know.
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Cats & Cat Moms from Etsy-Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries and Meows
Valentine’s Day, the day to show love between humans and felines is coming soon. I found some wonderful gift ideas, gifts the humans can buy for their fur kids and gifts the fur kids can give their humans (as long as one of the humans helps them with ordering and paying!) I love the catnip kickers because soft, long catnip filled toys that I can grab and kick with my back legs are my faves. The female human liked all the ideas but, since she never met a piece of jewelry she didn’t like, she especially liked the cat pendant (and the fact that it looks a bit like my brother Oliver). Don’t forget to show your humans some extra love on Valentines Day!
Tucker Opines
Well, I am still living in the human’s bedroom but things have progressed. If you’re wondering why I live in the bedroom, you can read about it in 
There is much in my two-room environment to keep me interested, the automatic red dot thingy 
that twirls and spins and throws red dots down the hallway, huge windows and wide window ledges that look out to the woods around the house. I often have visitors come by. Some are felines, some are birds, some are squirrels and there is the occasional raccoon as well.
It’s been a good year. I’ve been in the human’s bedroom many times and I’m thinking Jasmine and I may be friends after all (as long as I don’t forget myself and chase her).
I would say that I probably had the most exciting year as I threw my hat in the ring as the
not mean that I have abandoned all my purrlitical aspirations. I have been reading about cats that are mayors, customs officials and even a Chief Mouser for the British Cabinet. Now that I have some experience, I’m thinking I might just be successful at this purrlitical thing.

Fall was a bit dicey. First the humans tried to put some ridiculous thing on me that they called a

That’s a good question Jasmine. It took a week for my mommy to name me. She wanted to get to know my purrrsonality first but she was stumped. The first week in my new home I was quite the chatterbox, I followed her everywhere, blinking my baby blue eyes at her and begging for attention. Then inspiration came. Navi, from the Legend of Zelda game, is one of the most annoying video game characters of all time. In one of the episodes, there was a little blue-eyed fairy that would follow Link around and in order to get his attention, would yell, “Hey listen.” My big blue eyes and habit of following Mommy around everywhere chattering at her gave her the inspiration for my name. She declared that Navi was a purrrfect name for me.

Our humans are very purrrticular when it comes to feeding us. As a matter of fact, the male human won’t let the female human select a new organic and healthy food for us without consulting him (he’s our official feline dietitian) . It isn’t easy for the humans to know if they’re making the best food choices for us. We’re no help, as far as we’re concerned, the nastier and stinkier the food, the better it is.
You hear a lot about therapy dogs but therapy cats rarely get a mention. We felines know how to make humans feel calm and loved. This story is about Sparkle Cat’s visit to a school for children with developmental disabilities. You will love her tale of how the healing purr works magic.
Ok, I admit it, I was deeply offended by this headline but then the human told me to check my catitude and purruse the article a bit further and I’m glad I did. There’s lots of good info here people and the article explains our brains and provides some interesting tidbits…like did you know that cats dream?
Now before you go getting your tail in a twist, this is not a real kitty but this faux feline does save lives. My feline friends, have you ever wondered about that carrier that you are often unceremoniously stuffed into? Did you think, “Gee, I hope this thing is safe”. Well there are people who think about that all the time and they use the crash test kitty to make sure all of us felines are safe. (Note, crash test kitty is on the right, the canine is an anonymous friend)
Now this really has me concerned. After checking the map, every state surrounding us is evidently a cat lover state, but not ours! The Tribe of Five is seriously considering petitioning the humans for a move. North, south, east or west is fine, just a state that is a designated cat lover state! Is your state a cat loving state?
My first pick is from the gorgeous and world-renown fashionista feline-Sparkle Cat. In the humble opinion of this young (and very handsome) cat, Miss Sparkle is a beauty (although I am also greatly enamored with Coco the Couture Cat as well). In this blog entry, Sparkle shows her sense of humor and reminds us that even famous cats have to dry the line somewhere!
George the cat makes some very good points about living with the bothersome and noisy machine the humans call the “printer” and which George refers to as the “purrrrinter”. The humans seem to have some sort of love of machines that annoy (or terrify) felines. I myself could write a soliloquy about the “vacuum monster”: and the fear it strikes in the hearts of The Tribe of Five.

She’s had cancer twice and survived and now has the title of “Comforter-in-Chief at the mission. Her job is to provide a loving feline touch for anyone there who is in need of it. I know many cats with jobs but Sula has a very special one. And, Sula has a book entitled, “Surviving Cancer, Healing People, One Cat’s Story”. I can’t wait to have my human read it to me!
MC and BC have been having some unnerving conversations lately about aliens. Here’s one that kept me up last night after the human read it to me. I’m not so sure there aren’t aliens around our place and heaven knows we have enough to worry about with all the wild woodland creatures that walk on our downstairs deck and stare into the glass sliders at night. But, you decide, did Bear dip a little too deep into the nip or are there really cat-attacking aliens out there?

The humans at our house are always grumbling about the money they spend on the Tribe of Five and often threaten to find us jobs. Well, my feline friends, here’s a chance to prove your worth to the humans in cold, hard cash! $500.00 cash for the top cat mouser! Just have the humans take a video of you mouse hunting but hurry, 
The Tribe of Five has some grooming rituals but we never realized there was intention in the way that happens. And, with a Tribe of Five, sometimes there’s a little issue with the harmony so this article was very helpful! 
Momma Kat and Bear Cat are always having conversations about all kinds of stuff. This one was a little freaky as Bear is insistent that there are aliens in the house and their home base is the dishwasher. Now Oliver and I have often wondered if some of those loud machines in our house are alien habitats so as soon as the human finished reading this to me I did a complete alien sweep of the house! (Suggest you do the same.)
Now, I am great with leading my humans down the stairs, up the stairs and into the bathroom but this cat gives leading a whole new meaning. She’s a local mountain guide cat and she recently made world-wide news when she guided a lost hiker down the mountain. Wow, you go little tapfere Katze. (the female human says this means brave cat in German)
