Hello Friends Furry and Otherwise,
Tucker here. The Tribe of Five is honored to be interviewed by the Funny Farmer Felines. We had a great time. Hop on over and learn a little more about each of us.
Thank you Funny Farmer Felines:
Your Friend,
Hello Friends,
Alberto here. I’m back to my regular Wednesday purrrrusal of the web. Last week was “crash on the couch” Wednesday. The humans kindly provided us with a new sofa and I was enjoying my day off.
But it’s back to work now and I have some great feline finds for you.
Enjoy,
Meet Maro, one handsome dinner companion! Every since he was 7 months old, Maro has been sporting varied dinner ensembles. His human noticed what a relaxed guy he is and they’ve been having fun every night at dinner. Be sure to scroll through the photos and see how Maro dresses to compliment the meal that is being served.
This little guy has quite the moniker, Skatty or Strauss von Skattebol of RebelPawz. He came to live with his human, Paul J. Thompson as a little kitten. His human has set out to sail across the the southern Atlantic Ocean (starting from New Zealand) and Skatty will be an important part of the journey. Skatty’s human is deaf, so Skatty will be his ears on board and he gives visual cues that help Paul navigate the sea.
If you’re surprised about the concept of service cats, you shouldn’t be. Our friends Dezi and Raena are service cats and they write about how they help care for their human. They’re cool cats!
A crafty cat climbed over the outfield wall at the opening season game and hung out for a while (maybe when he heard “Marlins” he thought there would be fish). He not only made the news but found himself a forever home with one of the stadium employees. Sounds like a home run to me!
This is a cautionary tale for humans who have felines around their work area. You know that we like to be in the middle of things and this cat, from Riga, Latvia is no different. The mayor was making a televised comment about pot holes and the cat either had something to say about the subject or just wanted the mayor to pet him. Either way, it makes for pretty funny TV and I say any mayor with a feline in his office gets my vote!
Hello Friends,
Alberto here. The recent purchase of a sofa at our house brought up some misunderstandings between the felines and the humans in our home. It occurred to me that many of my feline readers may be experiencing some of these misunderstandings in their own homes so I decided to opine about this.
The female human announced the sofa was for her and our male human to “sit comfortably” and watch the big black moving picture thingy in the living room. What she failed to recognize is that there are feline rules regarding furniture and other areas of the home, for that matter.
The new sofa arrived and the female human snapped a photo after it was situated. Note that the fur protection,(blankets and throws are not in appearance yet. Funny how they always magically disappear when other humans come to visit).
We were quite happy to have this extra space to relax on and wasted no time checking it out.
We immediately took possession of the new sofa (as well as the old one). We so enjoy the blankets the female human puts on them for our comfort. I am purrrticularly pleased with the long part of the new sofa as I like to stretch myself out as far as I can and this area accommodates me quite well. We are thrilled with the extra room we now have, each sofa accommodates two cats, much more comfy than our former, cramped situation!
The female human is always griping about not having a comfy place to sit but since she’s always that last one home there is no spot for her. The male human, if he’s lucky, squeezes himself in on one side of the new couch and the female human is left with the chair. Now if any humans are reading this and wondering, “Why don’t they just move the cats?” you are obviously not owned by felines and attempting to explain this phenomena to you would be fruitless.
The female human often points to areas of the house saying things like, “Keep off the counter”, “You are not allowed on the dining room table”, blah, blah, blah. We find this quite amusing and wonder when she’s ever going to give up this sham that we have boundaries. I’ve included a few photos of us expressing to the humans that there is absolutely no place that is “off limits” to us.
New furniture, old furniture or for that matter, any place in the house, belongs to the felines in residence.
Sometimes the humans will cruelly close doors in an attempt to keep us out of places. There is always a work around for this. The female human tries to keep me out of her downstairs office but thankfully she has glass doors so a pitiful expression and much howling always does the trick (if the door is not glass, no worries, just implement the howling).
I sincerely hope you, my feline friends, have found these rules helpful and that my human readers will finally come to the inevitable conclusion that cats will lounge where cats want to lounge, it’s how we roll.
Lounge On My Fearless Feline Friends,
Alberto
Aaaaaaaand, it’s pawty time again! Lily here hosting this party. I’m all decked out in my Easter bonnet so naturally I’m the most likely pick for hosting. First, I want to share my three faves from the last party, ‘hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Purrs and Head Bonks,
My only complaint about this post is that I didn’t get to the audition. I saw so many great catidates, I wouldn’t have been able to choose just one but IMHO cats make the BEST Catburry Bunnies and there should be more next Easter! I do have to say though, this purrticular contestant looks less than enthusiastic.
We felines are great fans of the selfie, I mean, look at that gorgeous profile! I also enjoyed the other selfies except for that one with the loooooooong nose, kinda’ freaked meowout, if truth be told but, as you can see from Purrseidon’s picture on her blog page, she is one very brave cat, definitely braver than this feline!
I know, this is another Sunday selfie post but I was taken with these handsome fellows. Maverick in purrrticular, reminds me of our very own Alberto. If the truth be known, every one of the Tribe of Five has some Siamese, even Oliver who resembles a Holstein more than a Siamese! I sure hope these handsome fellows find forever homes soon!

Hey Folks,
Guess where we are? We had a play date with our good furry friends Raena and Dezi, they are two cool cats even with Dezi spending most of our time together UTB (under the bed) because of the thunder storm. We don’t like thunderstorms either. But it was a great time with good friends and for those of you who don’t know our buddies, you should check them out, not only are they nice, they are service cats and you can find out all about what service cats do on their blog.
Purrs and Head Bonks,
Oliver & Alberto
Hello Friends Furry and Otherwise,
Oliver here. I was checking out today’s blog posts from our friends at 15andmeowing and saw there was a “Thankful Thursday” blog hop going on at Brian’s Home I just had to hop on over there and tell you what I’m thankful for….our fireplace. Here’s a little video to show you how much I love it.
Your Friend,
Hello Friends, Furry and Otherwise,
It’s that time of the week for me to meander through the web and bring you some of my favorite feline news. This week we have reformed cat burglars, Operation Git-Meow, a feline themed wedding, a subway riding cat and tiny house built for feral cats.
Your Friend,
The female human tells me that the Guantanamo Navy Base in Cuba is very controversial but this is one thing happening there that everyone can agree on. The base, best known as a wartime prison, has lots and lots and lots of felines. It is estimated that there about 500 feral kitties there. Troops, civilians and visitors are now working together with the SPCA International and, with the Navy’s permission are spaying and neutering the cats there and working to find forever homes for them. It’s called Operation Git-Meow and in this feline’s humble estimation, a very worthy cause!
Building Tiny Houses in Riga, Latvia for Feral Cats – Boredpanda.com
I reported about the fantastic feral feline film done in Riga and now I’m happy to report that this city is looking out for their feral film stars in an ingenious way. Weather gets cold in that part of the world and the good people of Riga went to work to help their kitties keep warm in the cold. The female human watches some TV program that talks about tiny houses for humans and this is the same thing, feline style. All houses are built by local carpenters from donations made via the local non-profit Cat Care Community. What a wonderful idea and what wonderful humans for doing this. I think these digs look pretty snazzy, don’t you?
A Russian store employee captured the criminal behavior of this cat when she broke into Russia’s Vladivostok International Airport after hours and made a beeline for a popular seafood store, gobbling up $1000.00 worth of seafood. The video went viral and concerned cat folks from around the world responded, wanting to pay for her thievery, for a vet check up (after eating all that salty seafood) and there were offers of adoption as well. Even one of Russia’s most famous cat trainers offered to adopt her and make her a star in his show. After purrrusing her options, the feline decided to join the The Admirals, the professional Ice Hockey team in Vladivostok as their mascot.
When a German passenger noticed an orange Tabby sleeping peacefully on a seat in the subway car in Baden Wurtenberg, Germany he and other passengers were surprised to see the relaxed feline, snoozing away. . No one knew where he came from and they politely allowed him to sleep all the way to the subway’s destination in Kirchheim. The passenger took a photo of the sleeping commuter and posted on social media noting that this little guy’s owners might be looking for him. The cat was taken to an animal shelter and was reunited with his humans there. The new version of the feline hobo!
What’s better than a wedding? The wedding of two veterinarians who invite two kittens to the event. This couple invited two cute little tuxedo kittens to the wedding and the reception and as you can see on the website, included them in all the important wedding photos. They even included a number of feline touches in the wedding decor. The couple both volunteer at their local shelter, The Divine Feline and brought the little kittens to the wedding to promote awareness for shelter adoptions. Oh, and before you get your whiskers in a twist, the bride is wearing faux fur!
