Oliver here. Oh my whiskers! Our purrsonal assistant was busy doing other things (non of which are as important as our blog) and did not get the Friendly Fill ins posted yesterday,. Meowza it’s hard to find good help!

The struggle is real

1.I could really use another Dharma Dog Karma Cat bed. The female human won a beautiful bed for us and Alberto seems to have claimed it as his own. I quite like it too. Come to think of it though, if the Humans get another bed, I’d prefer something a bit wider as getting into this one is a tight squeeze.

2.The Panhandle Animal Shelter is a charity I like to support. Well, actually we send the female human out to do a table at the annual fund raiser and to share some of our pawsome swag with the shelter cats there. But I am a big supporter as this is where my brother Alberto and I came from as well as Lily,

3. One time I broke one of The Female Human’s favorite pottery birds and The Male Human hid it so I wouldn’t get in trouble. She found it eventually and attempted to glue the tail back on but it’s never been the same.

Hi There,
Tucker here. Today’s letter is “X” and that stands for “X-RAY” , as in X-ray eyes. Any of you humans who live with felines are furmaliar with that x-ray, mind controlling stare we employ to get you to do our bidding. Every feline needs to master the art of the stare as this is the first step in training your Humans.

Tucker: this is my x-ray stare technique, looking cute and maximizing my crossed blue eyes to their best advantage. How could you refuse anything this sweet face asks??

Lily: I use my unusual round eyes for my x-ray stare technique to capture The Human’s attention and then I just stare and stare. Pretty soon they cave to my will.  I am silently saying, “Oh please, give me just one treat.”

Jasmine: My x-ray eyes technique, I will stare at The Humans with my baby blues until they do the right thing (and the right thing is whatever I want them to do.)

Oliver: I use the “You’ve got to be kidding me!” x-ray eye technique. After a while, the Humans will realize they are being judged and found lacking and they will cave.

Alberto: My x-ray eye technique is a bit on the snarky side. I have this certain look that I will maintain. Soon enough the Humans begin to feel they have done something I find egregious and then they will begin to attempt to find out what it is that I need.

Jasmine here. Today’s letter is “Q” and that stands for ‘QUEENLY” and don’t Lily and I look the part? We are the only two girls in The Tribe of Five and we take our diva roles quite seriously. Now all we have to do is to get those males to treat us with the deference and respect we deserve! And a reminder, even rescue kitties like us can be royal!

Hello Folks,
Alberto here. Todays letter is “I” and that stands for “Indulge”. This is a word that all felines are quite furmaliar with because felines are known to indulge themselves, frequently and with gusto.

I am including some photos of The Tribe of Five and our furiends indulging themselves in the hopes that your humans will be inspired to indulge the felines in their home in new ways.

Oliver: If you live in a cold place (as we do) be sure your humans indulge you by purchasing you a down sofa throw (make sure it’s the real thing, do not accept cheap imitations.)

Alberto: When I was a little guy I really enjoyed the Human’s electronics.  They indulged me and pretty much let me take over the iPad mini. This is me with my iPad enjoying Jitterbug. The Female Human downloaded this for me from Friskies.

Jasmine: My favorite blog post was about our furiend Navi and the amazing tea party her human treated her to. Meowza, this is indulgence to the max. (Please pass the catnip tea)

Alberto: There’s no better place on a warm summer day than the kitchen sink. If you observe the photo closely, the water is running so that I can stick  my head under it for an extra dose of cooling off.

Lily: When indulging yourself by taking up a large portion of the sofa, do a little kitty yoga. It’s important to stretch out those paws!

Tucker: When appropriating any of the human’s furniture, be sure that you settle yourself in the most comfortable way. If there is a soft throw on the piece, so much the better, confiscate that and the comfy pillow as well.

Lily here. Today’s challenge letter is “C” and that stands for CUDDLES. All of the Tribe loves to cuddle and we seem to have our designated cuddle buddy. My cuddle buddy is Tucker, although I have to admit I sometimes get on his nerves.

Oliver and Alberto are cuddle buddies and they really like to cuddle. Jasmine likes to cuddle with the humans. Here is a little Tribe of Five cuddle montage, I hope you enjoy it.

Oliver Opines on Inspurration -Blogging from A to Z..”A”

Hello Folks

This is our first time purrticipating in this challenge and we’re a bit apprehensive about coming up with a post inspired a letter every day but The Tribe of Five has resolved to do it.

Today’s letter is “A”, so I’m blogging about All of The Tribe.  I figure many of you will be new to our blog so I thought an introduction would be a good idea. We are five rescue felines who live in the Northwest with our two humans.

My brother Alberto and I are the youngest, (2 years)  fostered and then adopted by our Humans. Lily is four years old, she was adopted from our local shelter and Tucker (the Alpha) and his sister Jasmine are 14 years old and moved with the humans to this home.

We will be taking turns opining on things that strike our fancy (in alphabetical order, of course). We hope you enjoy our feline view of the world and we look forward to having our purrsonal secretary read the posts of the other purrticipants to us.

My answers:

EasterEgghyunt1.  For Easter I hope the humans bring home some of those plastic eggs. Their church has a community Easter Egg hint for all the kids in our community and those shiny, colorful plastic things are so much fun to whack down the stairs. As you can see from the photo, it’s always a bit chilly (and often rainy) in our neck of the woods but the kids love it. Our humans volunteer every year and bring coffee and donuts to the parents and invite them to church. That’s all well and good but what do the Humans do for felines on Easter?

2. My favorite Easter Treat is Hello Kitty Easter eggs! Now I know that cat’s don’t eat hard boiled eggs (at least I don’t think so) but we sure appreciate any nod to the feline population during Easter.

3. Lately the song “We Are Siamese If You Please” from Lady and the Tramp is stuck in my head. Every one of the Tribe of Five has some Siamese in them and everyone but me looks Siamese. My brother Alberto looks like one of those cats in the movie and me, not so much. I’m a chubby little black and white feline with a heart over my eye but I still have Siamese heritage!

Oliver Opines on Family and Spring in Friendly Fill Ins #98

Hi Folks,

black and white cat eating wheat grassOliver here, just chillin’ and enjoying one of my favorite treats, wheat grass, while I purruse the neighborhood. We’re still waiting for spring at our house but the good news is almost half the snow is gone from the front yard!

Here are my answers:

1.I am the most heat loving cat in my family . Whenever the humans look for me, they first check all the floor heat vents. They call me a “heat hog” as I’ll block a vent until my fur is so warm it’s almost on fire. And, speaking of fire, the fireplace is one of my favorite spots. Here is a photo of me blocking the vent under the kitchen sink.

2.I have five siblings. Actually only one is a blood relative and that’s Alberto my brother (I know, we don’t look anything alike) but the other three tribe members are adopted siblings and we’re all a happy family.

3.I am looking forward to butterfly chasing this spring. Our house has big windows and there are always birds and butterflies fluttering around. The Female Human managed to capture one of my fierce butterfly hunts from last summer.

4.The first sign of spring this year was not yet seen. Dude, we still have snow in the yard and not one robin has flown past our windows! Spring will take a bit longer in our neck of the woods. In the meantime, I’m hunkering down and staying cozy.
