Jasmine’s Journey

JazonFur

This was me about 10 years ago.

Hello Furiends, Jasmine here. I am the shyest and least vocal member of the Tribe of Five (at least on this blog, not so much at home) but since it’s National Take Your Cat to The Vet Day, I wanted to share my story.

Last summer I was losing weight and not feeling well. It was time for my yearly wellness exam so The Female Human bundled me into the carrier and  took me to the place of white coats. After  they stabbed me and poked me and gave me a very thorough once over, they announced that I had kidney disease.

img_0020

This is me at the place of white coats, not my favorite place!

The Female Human was beside herself, especially when she was told that to keep me in good health I would need Sub Q fluids every other day and a strict kidney diet.

You may think, “How could that cute kitten have kidney disease?” but don’t let my youthful appearance fool you. I am actually 16 years old  (as is my brother Tucker) and we older kitties often have kidney problems.

The day The Female Human went to learn how to give me fluids she was a mess and couldn’t see what they were trying to show her because she was crying so hard. The folks in the white coats were so nice and told her story after story about how many of their feline patients lived for many years on this regime.  She finally pulled herself together enough to listen and learn and I crossed my paws and prayed she knew what she was doing.

I was also put on a strict renal support diet. My favorite is the Royal Canin Renal Support morsels in gravy-yum! You don’t have to take my word for it, ask the rest of the Tribe why they always try to steal my food when it’s breakfast and dinner time!

img_1944

This is me, last week. Looking pretty good for an old lady if I do say so myself!

It took us a while to figure out how to manage this kidney issue thing and I did have one setback early on but The Female Human and I have it down now. I am feeling great, am almost at my young, fighting weight and love to play with my toys and the red dot machine. I wanted to share a few points with my readers who are dealing with this or will be dealing with this.

Jasmine’s Take Your Cat to the Vet Day Tips

1-Always take your felines for wellness exams, no matter how much we howl and hiss, it’s worth it and catches many issues before they become too serious (and we do apurreciate it, even if we don’t act like it).

Fluids2-No matter how you feel about giving your fur kids fluids, I’d ask you to consider it. Although I hate being grabbed for this little exercise every other day it beats the heck out of being shoved in the carrier and put into the noisy metal machine. Then I’d have to wait at the place of white coats and finally be put on that metal table to have a stranger stick a needle in me.   I would much rather have The Female Human stick the needle in me (but don’t tell her I said that)

3-Don’t be afraid of giving us the fluids. You only put the needle under the skin and no matter how much we protest, it doesn’t really hurt. And, if your human needs a refresher there are some great videos online or a trip to the white coat place (without the feline, of course) can always help the human brush up on her technique.

final-75

Me on a fluid day, feeling rather feisty after my Scruffy Paws treat and giving The Female Human stink eye.

4-Make sure you keep us on a renal diet. If you find something new for renal issues, you might want to discuss it with your vet. I am now receiving Scruffy Paws Kidney Revitalize Chews twice a day. The Female Human had her doubts as I am very finicky but boy do they taste good. They seem to be helping because  I feel more energetic and my fur is looking so nice!

So my furiends, why not celebrate Take Your Cat to The Vet Day by taking your feline fur kids for a wellness exam?

Walk Through The Web Wednesday 8/14

siamese cat on a leash walking through a garden

Hello There Furiends,
I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! Things in our neck of the woods are going well. Just when we got used to the D-O-G, she left for her home in Arizona. Things are not near as exciting now and the Tribe is going to take a video of the squirrel to send to KD to enjoy.

The squirrel action pales in comparison to the raccoon family antics at the upstairs bird feeder. Momma and her little hooligans are making regular visits to raid the squirrel and bird food. They are so brazen that even when The Female Human stands on the porch and takes their pictures they are not phazed. All I have to say is, they better stay away from our food!

That’s the latest here and now on to my weekly web wanderings. Enjoy!

Turkey has so, so many cats

TrurkishCats

Meowza, did you know that cats are the most beloved animal in Istanbul? They’re also one of the city’s biggest attractions. Stray cats usually take the best seats at cafes and restaurants in Istanbul without anyone even bothering moving them. They maneuver around tables and customers, inside and out of the buildings in search of the most comfortable spot.

No one knows the exact number of cats in the city although someone said there could be a million. Even though they are popular, these stray kitties still struggle to survive. Thankfully, there are people like Rana Babaç Çelebi, the founder of the Cats of Istanbul, who care for them along with a few other groups as well. Cats of Istanbul has about 300 active volunteers who get together whenever action is needed, like fixing some cages in shelters, setting up cat houses in the neighborhood, feeding the cats when the weather is bad or simply just giving them affection.

Some districts have created cat houses in parks, while other individuals spend money and time to install beautiful cat houses around their neighborhoods. There are three big shelters in the city, which Sable and Çelebi said don’t have the best reputation for care. And as the value of the Turkish lira drops, the cost of medicine and food has increased, which makes their cat-relief work even harder.

The first felines arrived in Istanbul on merchant ships from Egypt during the Ottoman Empire. The people of the day gladly kept the newly arrived cats because the city’s wooden houses attracted a lot of rats and the felines helped keep the rat population under control. Now the humans of Istanbul are returning the favor by helping the stray cats.

Scientists may have figured out why cats eat grass

final-74

Lily loves her grass

A presentation last week at the International Society for Applied Ethology annual meeting in Bergen, Norway offered evidence on why cats eat grass and say it’s what we do when we want to fix an upset stomach.

Researchers at the University of California, Davis conducted a survey of 1021 cat owners who spent at least three hours a day observing their pet’s activities and found that of the 71 percent of cats caught chomping on grass, about a quarter wound up vomiting afterward—but roughly 91 percent of respondents reported that their cats did not appear to be ill before dining out on roughage.

So if they weren’t self-medicating a sick stomach, what happened? Well the scientists don’t have an answer for that. They did say that  it’s evolutionary behavior and, that grass consumption increases muscle activity in the digestive tract, which could force out unwanted contents. Cats have traditionally had to deal with parasites like hookworms or roundworms as a byproduct of devouring rodents, though it’s likely that most cats who aren’t on a diet of rat meat don’t have any parasites to treat. Still, the instinct to chew grass remains.

The Tribe of Five says this just might be a bunch of hooey! Some of us love snacking on grass, some of us could care less and even 16-year old Jasmine has her morning grass munch every day and she’s been following that ritual ever since she was a kitten. So much for science.

Giving cats a special food may one day help people with cat allergies

cat-allergies

The good folks at Purina may one day help humans who sniffle and sneeze around cats by changing the food the cat eats! The food would contain an antibody to the major allergy-causing protein in cats. This protein is called Fel d1. New research indicates that feeding this antibody to cats changes the protein so that the human immune system can’t recognize it, and that reduces the allergic response.

Nestlé Purina researchers conducted a small pilot study with 11 people allergic to cats. These people were exposed in a test chamber to hair from cats fed the antibody diet. They were also exposed to hair from cats fed a normal, control diet. The people had reduced nasal symptoms and less itchy, scratchy eyes with the hair from cats fed the special diet. These preliminary findings were released in June. The researchers presented them in Lisbon, Portugal.

Meowza, this would be a great thing if you can stop human sniffling by just changing our food!

NYC’s bodega cats have a feline fest on International Cat Day

BodegaCats

From “Bodega Cats of Instagram”

By day, their job is to greet people and pose in funny, whimsical ways for pictures that wind up on @bodegacats Instagram page.. By night, things get a little more intense, with bodega cats expected to walk the perimeters of their stores and keep invading vermin at bay. The iconic city cats got their big break in 2012, when Brooklynite Rob Hitt walked into his Williamsburg bodega for an egg-and-cheese sandwich and saw a photographic feline. It was “everything you would imagine in a bodega cat, so I took a picture of it,” he said. Now @bodegacats has 205K Instagram followers and its own Twitter channel at 262k followers. Hitt tries to leverage the attention for the greater good. Meow on bodega cats, I salute you!

‘Show us your cats’: Cat lovers unite for walking cat tour in Minneapolis neighborhood

CatTour

Sometimes you humans come up with really great ideas. The good folks in Minneapolis came up with a doozy. They conduct walking cat tours in their neighborhoods.  People gather at a meeting spot and then move door to door for feline viewing.  They get to meet some pretty fabulous felines and humans too.

One human said,  “A cat tour is just a way to meet your neighbors and go out in the community and meet people with animals and pets.”

Well, we have walking art tours, history tours, winery tours, etc. in our neck of the woods. Why not a cat tour? Watch the video and see what you think.

Alberto Opines onFriendly Fill Ins -Week 169

Hello There Furiends,
It’s good to be back to the Friday blog hop. It looks like our Purrsonal Assistant is finally pulling herself together and attending to the large workload she has neglected. If she wasn’t also our chef, cleaning lady and general lackey we might have had to consider replacing her but it appears this will not be necessary.

This is a blog hop, which means that you can hop on over to our friends at 15andmeowing or Four Legged Fur Balls and enter your Fill Ins post. If you to prefer to meow your answers here, we’re always happy to read them in the comment section.

1. When I can’t _________________, I get _________________.
2.  Bring back _______________.
3. I’m embarrassed to say _________.
4. I feel like _________ gives my life meaning.

Here are my fill in answers:

1. When I can’t get into the shower, I get frustrated and scream and yell until the shower door is opened for me.
final-66
2.  Bring back the old treats we used to get. The new “healthy” ones are NOT tasty. Look at me, barely able to hold my head up from hunger.

Five Felines and One D-O-G (Jasmine Opines)

Hello Furiends,

There’s been a lot of change at our house and one of the most dramatic has been the arrival of two human friends and their canine. First, let me explain that the Tribe has never seen a canine, never heard a canine and never knew that anything like a canine existed. We see deer, raccoons and the occasional bear from our window perches but a canine, never seen such an animal.

FrontCover-2

Needless to say, we were all a bit rattled by the arrival of this four-legged guest. Last year, the Tribe wrote a book for humans about proper etiquette regarding pet sitting. furniture and guests. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we needed to include a section about other animal guests!

The Female Human quite likes this dog although the rest of the Tribe is still deciding how we feel.

final-53

KD the (gasp) dog at our house waiting for the squirrel to come to the upstairs deck.

First of all, the dog has taken over the bird/squirrel viewing area. This is of great concern to Oliver and Alberto.  I don’t see why sharing the space is such a big deal to Ollie and Al but I do understand that the excited barking noise the dog makes when she sees the squirrel can be rather disconcerting. Or perhaps, terrifying is a better word because when she barks, Lily, Al and Oliver jump and then slip and side across the floors (like cartoon characters), looking for a place to hide. (Note, KD has never done anything aggressive to these chickens so their dramatic reaction is a bit over the top).

final-46

Lily is on canine watch. Tucker is watching the kitchen.

Since KD and her humans are staying downstairs, one feline is always tasked with guard duty at the top of the stairs. Tucker is exempt from this duty because he could care less. The dog has not interfered with Tucker’s breakfast, dinner or snack schedule so he refuses to purrticipate in this feline drama.

As soon as the dog’s paws touch the first step downstairs, the warning is issued and cats jump and scatter, heading off in various directions. This is a good thing for Oliver as a little exercise is needed where he’s concerned.

final-63.jpg

Alberto has proven himself to be quite the wimp. When the dog is in the house, Al whines and meows until The Female Human allows him access into my domain. I thought that I would be completely unaffected by what goes on in the rest of the house but now I have to share my space with this whiny, wimpy feline. Sheesh Al, get a grip.

final-62

Lily is quite content to hang out on top of the cat condo. Alberto will join her sometimes if he can’t weasel his way into the bedroom.

Lily takes a more pragmatic approach. She hangs out in the office, on top of the cat condo and demands that her wet food breakfast and dinner be served there. She seems to be quite content with this arrangement and, as that room is a dog free zone, she feels safe.

final-64

“Human, why does that canine make such a loud noise?” – Oliver

Oliver is almost as chill as Tucker unless KD the canine barks. He then hides under the small table in the living room or comes into the home office to complain to The Female Human.

final-65

As I noted, this is Tucker, not bothered or interested in our canine guest.

final-56As for me, well, I am usually unaffected by what happens in the rest of the house but Alberto, the big baby is getting on my last nerve. Sigh. Still, we are all furry family members and I realize I must extend some grace toward him.

So, my feline furiends, if you ever have a canine visitor, I hope they are as polite and well-behaved as ours. KD is a nice doggie (but don’t tell her I said that.)

Walk Through The Web Wednesday 8/7

siamese cat on a leash walking through a garden

Hello There Furiends,
First, my weekly update on the Tribe and our Human. Things are going better for The Female Human and we think she’s finally getting back to her old self. One little relapse on that thing she calls an ulcer (she should try our food, we never have such issues with our tummies). Anyway, it’s good to see her getting back on track and life resuming the way we like it.

It’s been really hot here (hot for our neck of the woods anyway). The Female Human’s momma raccoon has shown up with her new babies to mooch food from the soft-hearted Female Human. I must say, they are fun to watch from the safety of the house and when they’re done eating and traipsing through our little pond they head back to their home in the woods. Here are some photos of the masked gang of freeloaders.

Aside from the heat and the moochers, things are pretty quiet. We are getting used to the visiting dog but she will be leaving next week.

I hope you enjoy this week’s web wanderings and take care my furiends,

Cat of The Year Awards: Inspiring tails of the UK’s finest felines

HonoredCats

Once agains, our furiends across the pond showcase the amazing and wonderful things that felines do. This story may bring a tear to your eye but it’s worth the read because these true stories beautifully illustrate the incredible bond we felines have with your humans and just how amazing (and in some cases life saving) sharing your life with a feline can be.

Catlantis, the pawsome new cat cafe is opening soon in London

Catlantis

Oh my whiskers, those British folk know how to honor the feline (or moggies as they call them). This place looks amazing.

Catlantis will cater to Londoners whose lifestyle doesn’t allow them to have a pet, offering them somewhere to have a cup of tea or coffee while getting to know the resident moggies.

Catlantis plans to have 15 rescued cats in the cafe, all fostered from a local shelter. Part of the revenue created from the cafe will be donated to feline welfare charity Cats Protection, which provides cats and kittens in shelters with food, veterinary treatment and care.

While animal themed cafes have been controversial in the past (see: foxes, owls, micropigs…), London is already home to the successful Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, which opened in 2014 and is still going strong.

A truly heroic cat napper

CatNapper

Now this woman is a cat napper I can support. Seems that a Long Island nanny cat-napped her employer’s cat because they wanted to euthanize the cat because he’s elderly.  This sweet human is fighting for custody of the feline. Thank goodness the judge has a good head on his shoulders and has stated that  “Either this is worked out and we decide who is going to get custody of this cat … or medical records show this cat is in pain and suffering,.”

The nanny, , who cared for the couple’s two young children for years, said she took Tigger after she arrived for work on July 2 and learned they wanted to end his life. She left behind a note that read, “I can’t let this happen.” Well Tucker and Jasmine (the 16-year old Tribe siblings) say, paws up to this wonderful human!Paws Up award by FelineOpines.net for humans who do amazing things for cats

Cancer gel for cats and dogs is being developed in Tri-Cities. It could soon help people too

Isopet

Not only is this amazing news but it’s happening in the  Northwest, not so far from where we live.  This promising new cancer treatment developed in the Tri-Cities has been used on its first commercial patient — a long-haired cat named Drake.

Vivos Inc. of Richland has spent three years developing and testing a cancer-killing gel after licensing the technology from Battelle, which developed it at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland.

So far, it is being used at the company’s first pilot clinic for treating dogs and cats.

But the startup company’s goal is to eventually offer the treatment for human patients, injecting a high dose of radiation directly into a tumor without damage to healthy tissue.

“The technique we developed is exactly what we will use in humans — identical,” said Michael Korenko, Vivos chief executive officer. The treatment for Drake the feline decreased his tumor by 80%!

Pet owners interested in treatment now may fill out an application online at radiogel.com under IsoPet.

Zut a-claws! Stowaway cat’s 1,500-mile French road trip

Stowaway

There seem to be a lot of felines who end up on sightseeing excursions.

Eight-year old squish cat took a 1,500-mile road trip to the south of France after stowing away in her owners’ caravan. Her humans thought they’d left her at home but the day after they had crossed the Channel by ferry last month they were stunned to see her crawl out of a storage area as they ate their lunch.

The couple had to pay £500 to get her a rabies jab and a pet passport to ensure she could return to Britain legally. And Mr Brown had to stay on for an extra two weeks while the arrangements were being put in place.

After Squish’s humans jumped through all the necessary hoops to get her back home the trio had racked up about 1,500 miles by the time they arrived home.

Walk Through The Web Wednesday 7/31

siamese cat on a leash walking through a garden

Hello Furiends,

final-61

Momma and babies waiting for their daily hand out.

I hope you’re enjoying your summer. It’s lovely in our neck of the woods and all the forest creatures are showing up with their babies. The deer with the two little fawns is hard for The Female Human to capture with her camera. The foliage down in the ravine covers her very well. The Human did get a shot of the raccoon who comes to beg at the downstairs slider every evening. She comes every summer and eventually introduces her babies to us when they’re old enough.

Things are fine with us. Summer is here. The Female Human’s ulcer is healing nicely and we are beginning to get used to having a dog in the house.

I hope you enjoy my web wanderings this week and enjoy your summer!

A streetcar cat’s life lessons

StreetcarCat

A very clever human noted that this street car riding cat had some life lessons to teach us all. Things like  seize any opportunity to mix and mingle with nice people.  Also, being anchored for safety on a moving vehicle is also important.  Lean into life’s pleasures (like when a nice human gives you an ear scratch on the streetcar). You humans should take a page from street car cat’s book!

Meet ‘Cat-chelors’, men who believe cats take pressure off finding a partner

Catchelor

All you single ladies take note.  A new study from Itchpet.com has found that single men who own cats (called Cat-chelors) believe living with cats takes the pressure off having to find a partner.

The rise of cat-owning males singles revealed that one in four cat-chelors thinks their cat has taken the pressure off being single as cats are very good company.

Another 29% like having their cat around as they are ‘good to talk to’, and half believe their feline helps ‘keep them calm’.

One in 10 even went as far to say their cat offered ‘counsel’ through an emotional break-up.

One in four think their feline helps them come across as a more loving person, and one in six believe their cat has helped them get more dates. These men have also said that a woman who does not love cats will probably be a woman they don’t ask for a second date.

The Female Human has always said, “real men love cats” so, if you’re not a feline lover, don’t bother asking her out.

Forget the moon landing, let’s celebrate 50 years since Morris, the biggest feline star ever was discovered.

Morris

Some of you kittens out there may not know who this feline stuper star was, but you should. He was a TV star, who became a household name in 1969 by strutting his stuff in the first of 58 commercials for 9Lives.

Morris came from humble beginnings, it’s said he was either surrendered by is owners or rescued  from the streets, either way he ended up in a shelter and when animal trainer and handler Bob Martwick stopped by the shelter  looking for a cat to appear in commercials for 9Lives cat food, Morris won him over. Martwick brought the calm, some would say aloof, stray cat to a meeting with the creative team at the Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago, and Morris made an unforgettable impression.

“He jumped on the table … and he walked right up to the art director, the big cheese, and bumped him in the head. And then Morris just sat back,” Martwick said during his many media interviews about the cat. “The art director said, ‘This is the Clark Gable of cats.'”

The original Morris died in July 1978 at the age of 17, and his obituary in The New York Times noted Morris was “laid to rest near Mr. Martwick’s home,” apparently in a backyard ceremony befitting his unpretentious roots. Martwick died in 2001 at age 75.

All subsequent replacement look-alike Morrises have been rescue cats, and the current Morris can be found on Twitter at @MorrisApproved, on Facebook, and on YouTube with his “Cat’s Eye View” on the 9Lives Cat Food channel, which notes that “America’s choosiest cat gives back” in an effort to “Live Well & Prospurr.”

In 2015, Morris was one of 10 brand mascots alongside the Green Giant, Ronald McDonald, Mr. Clean and others to be honored with “A Salute to Advertising’s Greatest Icons” at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago.

So, all you former shelter kitties take heart, you too could be famous!

Idaho firefighters respond to fire alarm at animal shelter, discover cat triggered it

AlarmCat

Well of course I had to share this because we are Idaho kitties . Boise.Idaho firefighters responded to a fire alarm that went off at an animal shelter which turned out to have been called in by a feline.

It was a normal Friday at the Idaho Humane Society in Boise until the fire alarm sounded and a fire truck quickly arrived, KBOI-TV reports.

After it was determined there was no fire, “we started delving into why the alarm had gone off and discovered that the alarm had been triggered in a very unique place… the cat holding room!” staffers wrote on Facebook. “The offender was a female black and white stray cat that was brought in earlier today.”

“This sweet feline had been rolled a bit too close to the fire alarm pull and took advantage of this opportunity to hail for an imminent rescue!” the post said.

“Of course, cats and firefighters have always had a special bond… so she could have been possibly calling for a special someone to bring her home as if she had been stuck in a tree… or perhaps she wanted to bring more attention to her feline friends who are waiting to be adopted into their forever homes.” Way to get noticed kitty!

CATURDAY NIGHT FEVER Snaps of cats show the world is a dancefloor if you have the mew-vs

The photos of these dancing cats are pawsome! Do yourself a favor and head on over there and take a look. And if you think this is strange behavior for a feline – don’t. The Tribe of Five has been known to bust a move now and then!

Walk Though The Web Wednesday 7/24

siamese cat on a leash walking through a garden

Hello There Furiends,
Lots of goings on at our house last night. About 9:00 p.m. The Female Human learned about a weather alert coming our way, high winds (75mph) thunder and lightning storm.

final-60

“Make it stoooop!” Oliver

The Tribe is NOT fond of weather like this and since we have so many huge windows in our house we have to find a safe place to hide…..with The Female Human who is more of a scardy cat than we are.

final-59

“I’ll get out of the laundry when you make that scary storm stop!” Alberto

It was a loooong night and each feline had their own way of coping. The Female Human is a bit sleep deprived today but all was well at our house but there was much chaos in other areas. The wind did a lot of damage, trees were toppled and lightning struck houses and trees. We checked in on our local feline furiends and everyone was safe and sound inside.

Stay safe my furiends and I hope you enjoy this week’s web wanderings.

Britain’s New P.M.’s first job is to impress the cat

Larry

Larry the cat currently holds the official role of chief mouser to the Cabinet Office.

Britain has a new Prime Minister but he has yet to pass his hardest test…approval from Larry, the Chief Mouser.

Larry probably shed few tears when Theresa May left as, although she said she was “very happy to see Larry” she did say she was more of a dog person. There was some controversy as to how David Cameron got along with Larry but Cameron waved a photo of himself with Larry curled up in his lap to prove they were pals,

How will Larry and the new P.M., Boris Johnson get on? Only time will tell.

How to stroke a cat…according to science

PetACat

Oh my whiskers, why must you humans complicate everything? Now a bunch of scientists have gotten together and studied the correct way to pet cats. First, not all us felines are the same. Second, our humans get to know us and what we like and don’t like. It’s not rocket science people, no matter how hard you try to make it more complicated than it is.

Here is some of what the study discovered. “Although a lot of cats do like being stroked, and in certain contexts will choose us over foodhuman interaction is something they have to learn to enjoy during their comparatively short sensitive period– between two and seven weeks old.

When it comes to human-cat interactions, the characteristics of humans are also important. Our personalities and gender, the regions of the cat’s body we touch and how we generally handle cats, may all play an important role in how the cat responds to our affections.”

If you particularly uneducated about felines, the article even includes signs of cat enjoyment and cat dislike or tension.

Not even cats, the inspiration for Cats, like the trailer for Cats

CAtsMusical

The trailer for this year’s adaptation of Cats is out but sadly, it appears that when viewed by real felines, those real felines are underwhelmed. A number of humans had their cats view the trailer and then tweeted about their reactions, many with videos.  The pained expression on this feline’s face is pitiful.

Almost every cat that viewed the trailer seems either deeply unimpressed, disdainful, or vocally displeased with what’s put before them.

I can’t help but enjoy the irony of the hubris of you humans, putting a movie together about cats, called Cats and then waiting until it was finished to see if real cats would appreciate it. MOL!

Canadian police mistakenly use cat filter during news conference on double murder

CatPolice

Clearly the Canadian police missed my Walk Through The Web Wednesday feature of June 20th where I reported on the Pakistani politician who gave his entire speech with a cat filter on. So since they didn’t follow my news reporting, the Canadian police have found themselves in the position of apologizing after a cat filter was used during a Facebook live-streaming of a news conference about a double murder, which gave the presiding officer whiskers and ears. Sergeant Janelle Shoihet, from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police of British Columbia, blamed “technical difficulties” for the error. “Technical difficulties – MOL!  Humans, ignore my cutting edge news reporting at your own risk!

Why Do Cats Lick You?

CatsLick

I bet our Female Human has wondered about this when one of us drags our scratchy tongue along her hand, face, etc. There are a number of reasons, we lick you to calm you down, to show you affection, and to mark you as our territory. And, if we lick you excessively, we’re probably trying to tell you that you stink!
