What an interesting thought and while I continued to balance myself around the dining room table, I had the female human do a little research. Turns out (as per Animal Planet) Manx cats can learn to balance without a tail. They are thought to have an especially sensitive vestibular apparatus inside their ears to compensate. Who knew? Glad you asked the question, now I feel like very smart kitty!
